Ingersoll Rand Launches Safety and Security Institute in Shanghai, China

On July 6, 2011, the opening ceremony of Ingersoll Rand Safety and Security Institute was successfully held in Ingersoll Rand Asia Pacific headquarters in Shanghai. This is not only the first institute established in the security industry in China, but the first of its kind in Ingersoll Rand across the world. The ceremony was attended by the company’s high-level executives, including John Conover, Senior Corporate Vice President and President of Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, Richard Daudelin, CFO of Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, William Yu, President of Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies Asia Pacific, and a dozen media representatives from Asia-Pacific Media, HC360 Ehome(HC360.com), China Public Security Publishing Shanghai and so on.
Compelling with the rapid development of security technologies as well as the public’s growing demands on security, the Institute is committed to driving the growth and maturity of the overall security industry in Asia Pacific, and particularly in China. Based on the in-depth understanding, research and analysis of the latest trends of security solutions, the Institute will lead the way of innovation and growth of the security industry among the peers through Ingersoll Rand’s leading security technologies and expertise, and furthermore, to raise the public’s awareness on security issues.
The Institute consists of the Safety & Security Marketing Academy and the Safety & Security Technology Academy. The Marketing Academy is focused on market analysis as well as promotion and education on security technologies and industry knowledge, while the Technology Academy is more focused on independent experiments and research on new patents, technologies and products development. Besides of the two academies, the Institute will also invite the world’s renowned experts across the industry to sit in its Expert Panel.

A monthly e-newsletter has been published on regular basis since May 2011 and an official website of the Institute is under construction. In addition to that, the Institute is seeking cooperation opportunities with China’s top universities in the areas of new technology research, information exchange and advanced knowledge training for the rapid, healthy and sustainable development of the security industry in China.
