Founded in Norway in 1832, MUSTAD is today a diversified international company.
In 1892, the French factory was opened and became one of the most important production centers of horse shoe nails.
The first MUSTAD floor-closer is produced in 1968.
MUSTAD received the SOCOTEC Quality Certificate for its new generation of floor-closers in 1986.
In 1991, the French MUSTAD factory becomes part of the English NEWMAN TONKS Company, which is acquired in 1997 by the INGERSOLL RAND Company. MUSTAD is now part of the IR Security Technologies Division.
